The Philae Temple complex is a beautiful ancient Egyptian site dedicated to the goddess Isis, located on Agilkia Island in the Nile River near Aswan, Egypt. Originally situated on Philae Island, the entire complex was relocated in a UNESCO project to prevent it from being submerged by the Aswan High Dam's rising waters.
Visiting the Temple
